Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies

Question:
What do you do when you accidentally buy the jumbo chocolate chips at the grocery store?

Answer:
Make jumbo chocolate chip cookies, of course!

I know, so obvious, right? But that's the dilemma I was faced with when I came home from the store the other day. I could see no other solution to this problem! I would like to know what else one would do with extra large chocolate chips, beyond melting. Any ideas?? Because I have leftovers!

This recipe is your basic chocolate chip recipe, but with years of trial and error I have tweaked it to be just so. This particular recipe yields a fluffier cookie. These monster cookies are big in circumference, but they've also got height. In other words, this is a serious cookie!

Garden wanted her picture taken with the cookies. Here you go, Garden! You're famous!

Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 c. butter (2 sticks)
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 T. vanilla
1 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
3 c. all purpose flour
2 c. extra large milk chocolate chips
Cream together the butter and sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix well. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Slowly add to wet ingredients, mixing well. Stir in the chocolate chips. Using a 1/2 cup measuring cup, scoop out dough and roll into balls. Bake for 12-14 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Makes approx. 20 jumbo sized cookies.
